The Artist

 

 

Master Sculptor Vincent J. DeFilippo was born and raised in Long Island, NY. His sculpting talents cross several generations with a father who is a well known sculptor of bronze monuments and fine arts and a son who now sculpt as well.

For nearly 45 years Vincent J. DeFilippo has been literally leaving his fingerprints on America's doll industry. He spent 27 years creating dolls for the Ideal Toy Corporation where he earned the title "Master Sculptor".

During his prolific career he has designed and modeled numerous best selling dolls and figurines for some of America's most notable companies, including : American Greetings, Kenner Toy Company, Coleco Toy Company, Middleton Doll Company, Effanbee Doll Company, Ideal Toy Company, M.O.'s Porcelain Collection, and Pfaltzgraff Collectible Dolls.

Some of his best known dolls he's created include : Xavier Robert's Cabbage Patch Dolls, Kosa Annimals, Cabbage Patch Figurines, Ideal's - Rub - A - Dub Dolly*, Tearie Betsy Wetsy*, Magic Hair Crissy*, Baby Crissy*, Baby Dreams, Baby, Baby, Wake Up Thumbelina*, Shirley Temple (3rd Edition), Tuesday Taylor, Dorothy Hamill, My Bottle Baby*, Upsy Dazy Doll, Tippy Tumbles*, Archie Bunker's Grandson Doll (Joey), Tiny Tears, Look & Love, Brandy and Andy Gibb, Kenner's The Royal Imperial Guard Figure (Return of the Jedi)

Vincent currently works out of his own studio in Ohio. In 1990 Vincent J. DeFilippo launched his own porcelain doll collectibles under DeFilippo Originals Inc.. Since then, Vincent has established a following of over 30,000 collectors and can be seen occasionally on T.V. through the major shopping programs.
